comfort zone

i have books filled pages and pages of sketches like these...and i kind of love them more than any piece i've worked on...i love flipping through my sketchbooks and i love how the paper feels ...and smells...i kinda love them more than my pieces...they more familiar and cozy to me...which is my theme for this weekend...and i feel good about it.

i really wanted to do a film photography post but my computer is being rude... and im pretty sure anyone who looks at this has already seen them ...but maile did such a good job i wanted to do a followup...and get real, i will never look this good again so i will milk it all i can.

so on saturday i got a chance to help out shooting little league softball games with egofoto. it was such a different experience than anything i have ever done in photography before...i mean seriously hold still for one second and when you catch a ball can you please smile with eyes open?but i completely loved it because i think its those kind of things that really make you grow and help technique that you can apply to your other work...plus it was

pretty entertaining(some of their songs are so mean!)...

not to mention i got to use dave's rad lens..

and get to talk shop and get advice from him!

(and he let help despite my lack of experience and sense of direction)

nothing is better for me than a night alone at home in my huge, grubby sweats with my colored pencils and sharpies...and obviously taco bell (i almost left it out cuz it's such a given)its my comfort zone must. it's my detox recipe for increasing social anxiety and lets be honest, lack of social demands.

i love faces and awhile ago i made a book for my mom full of them in all different mediums...the book is done accordian style so when you open it you can read it normal or open it into a circle(for some reason i only took shot of the girl ones)...i guess that two weeks i attended bookmaking payed off a little..why does anyone make an art class at seven in the morning?

i'm real excited because today this absurdly beautiful and talented girl(and shes even nice too...i know you want to be annoyed but you can't its the worst) is letting me be a model for her.....now i just have to not get awkward-face in front of the camera... but if any one can make me look pretty its her..maile hope i didn't embarass you but if your not gonna brag i will!

a taste of salvation

i went on a roadtrip to the middle of nowhere and found salvation! well the mountain...it was soo so cool...the land was declared toxic and deemed useless so this guy moved there and has dedicated his life to painting and building a mountain. it was so cool to poke around and we took like a million pictures but my camera is being a total brat so here are a few peeks...

also the closest town to it is by the salton sea (which you may need to be on either side of the witness protection program to live in) and was so small and rundown and creepy but everywhere we turned we saw groups of bicyclists...can this please be our next girl trip?
