oh hi

i haven't blogged since before christmas so saying i'm behind is an understatement, let's just blame instagram and move forward ....

I went to portland awhile ago and my sister and i did some redecorating in rue's nursery, we used wood from her backyad and just cut out butterflies and did a front and back around fishing wire and glued some to the wall....we were happy with it, but i think their cat was more excited about it then rue was...which is probably better as it keeps it safe from little hands, also i think it translates better in real life over a photo because its more fluttery looking

darci and i made "vintage glass" by mixing modpodge and food coloring and painting the inside of jars(while singing across the universe and annie)...it was a fun night

so i saw these (sorry couldn't find the closer pic)and thought maybe taco would like some...sometimes i wish his natural habitat wasn't desert...then i could fern gully his living space all up



so apparently after 20 years of making junk out of fimo and sculpey i forgot to set the oven temp at 275 and set it at 375...and burnt them crisp brown...but then after i painted them i liked it even better...it made the bottom cooler

the other night teen came over and while we watched perfect couples (i think it's so funny!) we started making handmade stamps...at first i hated it cuz it felt sloppy...but now i love how imperfect they turn out...and they just look different then store bought ones...now i'm on a stamp warpath using vegetabless and mushrooms and all sorts of weird things...i also painted some of taco's rocks he's into it i can tell...they aren't stamped but there is something really fun about painting nature made things over store bought stuff

so all those pictures i made for that calendar..well i didn't just wanna throw them away so i decided to make them into envelopes

i did a few in craft paper and graph paper too..they make a real cozy set...but now i dont want to give them away

i forgot to upload the cutest valentine of the day baby charlie...but if i do it now it may unravel this whole post...and teen and i are about to glee

have ambition simply to see things through

i spent new years in some crazy nice beach house holed up with jaymi watching movies eating treats and crocheting...listening to the ocean and a little bit of gossip before new years hit...can't drag that into 2011....taco helped me write my goals this year

also i always see so many pictures i love and think are so pretty ...and although they get google stars i never really see them...so ive been printing ones i like and putting them on a clipboard to rotate...or u can make a calendar with a pretty picture a day...just something easy but brightens the day ya know?

so obviously since i still haven't posted thanksgiving my bday or christmas or new years it would only make sense to sart with valentines day....i had an awful flu lat week and was layed up in bed and since christmas is over i needed a craft theme... i liked the first image i saw when i typed in vintage valentine in good ol google...cut me some slack my brain was zapped from fevers and vomit originality was not an option ...also i redrew it on brown paper thinking it'd look good w no background it didn't...and of course what's a valentines w out felt...im not sure this is my official valentine...but it's cute...and it was fun to use colored pencils

so lately by night i am a celine dion christmas album listening treat eating christmas crafter...and i feel real good about it...

most of these ideas i ripped from other blogs...and i found these cute print on tags to go w the clay ornaments me and teen stamped...to whom i owe thanks from saving me from turning country while crafting alone

i may have gotten a little excited about my nephews coming and made a little festivity for there room...i loved the birds with the letters it made it more boyish

also when not crafting i have become obsessed with organizing ...and i think egg cartons for earrings is my new favorite....i love the texture they have...and they are free with only a dozen eggs

also i would like to post links to where i ripped ideas from and got the printable ornaments...but i can't be logged into google reader and my blog at the same time...so plese dont sure me for not referencing...just teach me how to fix that problem instead? thanks

stick a cork in it

so i got a cork baord in jr high....and now instead of being covered in collages its covered in necklaces...cuz im kinda a jewelry freak and hate tangled jewelry

but then i got over it so i sprayed the cork with wall texture (orange peel)

 

and then i made some wood push pins...as in i sawed off branches in the trail behind my house and lori came home to a mad woman in sweats and crazy hair running around with a saw (if u know me well you know exactly what this looked like...)

then i superglued myself to myself...

luckily my sister and brother in law were on the phone and googled me loose...i had glued fingers together before and didn't really think it worked...im a believer now

and voila...end product... i think it makes the wall look so much cleaner...and i like that it looks like wall too

also sara updated this blog for me so i could do larger pictures unfortunately i am and 80 year old when it comes to computer skills and lost half the pics i wanted and can't move a thing around...sorry
